About this policy

SettledIn is a practical settlement guide for people moving to the European Union. This page explains what information is collected when you visit this site, how it is used, and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) if you are located in the EU or EEA.

This site does not require an account, a login, or a personal profile to read any guide.

What we collect

Affiliate links: some pages link to third-party services such as language courses, insurance providers, or moving companies. When you click one of these links, the third-party site may set its own cookie or tracking parameter to record that the visit came from SettledIn. We only receive aggregate information about clicks and signups; we do not see your personal details through this process.

Cookie preference storage: this site stores a small piece of information in your browser (local storage, not a server-side account) to remember whether you accepted or rejected non-essential cookies, so the consent banner does not reappear on every visit.

Future advertising cookies: SettledIn does not currently run any advertising. If Google AdSense or a similar ad network is added later, it may use cookies to show ads and measure their performance. Basic hosting logs: like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information, such as IP address and browser type, for security and reliability. This is not linked to any personal profile we keep.
